Hey kinks and coils 💜 Since I am always growing and always evolving I am thinking of changing a little something with my hair. So I have my hair in a tapered kinda cut. It wasn't intentional I just kept cutting (because I am scissor happy ) then I realized that my sides were shorter than my crown area and then I stopped so right now it looks like a tapered cut , you can read all about it  here . Oh my. This has to be the worst. I feel that as naturalistas we can never find inner peace. We are discriminated in our  workplaces , in schools and then when we think we finally get a break from all that discrimination and try to cool off in the natural hair community we are discriminated , AGAIN! Well , what if I told you that you can do length checks until judgement day but if that hair is not healthy then that shouldn't be length that you should be claiming anyway. Okay , okay . Let me stop acting like my hair was healthier than everything on Earth. I had to experience hair drama to realize that it is not really about the length. There are certain things that you can do to help maintain your hair , I am not going to say "bring back your hair to life" because it is dead anyway. Are length checks unnecessary? There are a lot of people who hate their 4c hair and I can never understand why! People uploading  negative videos about their 4c natural hair , why fam? Did you want looser curls or waves ? I think when most of us big chopped and went back to natural hair , we had a goal to embrace our true selves in our natural state. So if that 3c or 2c hair is not what is naturally yours / grows out of your scalp then why don't you embrace the one that was meant FOR YOU ?
